Interested in volunteering for Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue?
We are seeking committed volunteers to be involved in one of the largest and most active SAR units in Oregon. This volunteer opportunity is highly demanding yet rewarding both in terms of training and missions. The 2024 Academy will participate in 100+ hours of training to learn life-saving skills, wilderness navigation, tracking, and more.
We will be hosting 3 community informational sessions for anyone interested in learning more about volunteering for Deschutes County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. During this 2-hour session we will review qualifications, expectations, and 2024 Academy key dates.
- October 10: Open Space, 6p-8p
- November 7: 10 Barrel East, 6p-8p
- December 6: Embark, 6p-8p
